Restaurant Review at Placer High School

Story by Max Schultz, Writer

“Where should we go for lunch?”, has always been a question asked during lunch time here at Placer High School. With Placer having an open campus this gives students a lot of options. Many students have a favorite place to go with their friends. After asking many Placer students what their favorite places to go during lunch. Everyone’s answers included, Local Heroes, Burney’s, Tango, Taco Tree, and Depot Bay. After visiting all these places and asking students their opinions on them this is what we got.

First off is Local Heroes, in everyone’s list, Local Heroes made an appearance. It has very well made burgers and fries but it can get somewhat pricey. “I love Local Heroes it has amazing burgers it is pretty close to school. The only problem is that it costs a bit much but i think it is worth the money.” said sophomore, Nick Hugi. The restaurant itself supports Placer a lot. it has a room that is painted green and gold. It also has pictures of some Placer teams of the past.

Second is Burney’s, Burney’s is a popular hot dog restaurant because the workers are very nice and the food is great. It is a bit of a walk to get there but it is well worth it. “I like Burney’s because it has good food for cheap. it can get kind of crowded in the there but it’s very good food.” said Lane Bennett.

Third is Tango. Tango is usually paired up with Old Town Pizza which delivers to Tango. After pizza you can get some yogurt. Tango is rather cheap but can be far away in downtown Auburn. It gets very crowded but the food is great. “Tango is my favorite place to go with my friends because you can hang out in front of place while you are eating. My favorite part is the yogurt.” Said Joey Woods.

Fourth is Taco Tree. Taco Tree probably makes the most money off Placer students because every day it is packed with kids. Taco Tree is fast, cheap, tasty, and the closest restaurant to Placer. “Taco Tree is one of my favorite places to go because it’s fast. You can go down real quick grab your food, and get back to campus.” said Nate Rodriguez.

Last is Depot Bay. Depot Bay is very popular with Placer student especially in the morning, since it serves coffee and pastries. During lunch the place is usually full even though it is far away from campus. Overall every lunch spot around Placer has pretty good food for a cheap price. Each of them has their highs and lows but they are all great places to go to with your friends.
