Many are unaware of how McDonalds prepares their chicken nuggets

A lot of people eat food from McDonalds, Burger King, and other fast food places, but do they really know what is in the food that they are eating?

McDonald’s chicken nuggets are made with chicken, but not the parts you would think. They call it “Mechanically separated chicken”, but it is really not separated at all. The chicken carcass is put into the machine and ground up, along with the meat, eyes, guts, and bones. Since the product is full of bacteria, they soak it in ammonia to get rid of the bacteria, which is in most kitchen and bathroom cleaners. It turns out pink, and it is sometimes referred to as “pink slime.” Then, they use artificial dye to make it so your chicken nuggets look like chicken.

In McDonald’s ads, the items always look a lot more appetizing. This is because the pictures are photo shopped to make their food look better. The food is distorted to look bigger and better tasting.

The list of ingredients in the French Fries includes potatoes, hydrogenated soybean oil, and natural flavor. Until very recently, the natural flavor came from beef extract.  Since it also contained vegetable oil, people assumed that it was vegetarian. The French Fries from McDonald’s have more saturated fat in one serving than a McDonald’s hamburger.

A lot of the food from McDonald’s will not decompose or mold because of the extremely high sodium content. Salt works as a great preservative and because there is so much sodium in the meat, it does not get moldy.

A Whopper from Burger King with a small side of fries contains 1010 calories and 1450 mg of sodium.

In a Big Mac from McDonald’s, there are 550 calories and 1000 mg of sodium. In a small side of fries from McDonald’s, there are 230 calories and 160 mg of sodium. In the six piece chicken McNuggets there are 280 calories and 540 mg of sodium.

Every year a part of a rainforest the size ofBritainis cut down to make cattle ranches to raise cattle for fast food companies.

In 35 countries around the world, there are millions of McDonald’s burgers sold every day, which are made from the cattle bred just to be turned into fast food.

The cattle are specially bred for fast food. A lot of room must be used breed all the cattle, so a lot of land is used. The chickens that are bred for Chicken McNuggets live in factory farms with no sunlight or fresh air.

So next time you walk into a fast food place for a quick snack, think about what you are really eating.
