The impact that plastic bags have caused to our environment over the years is causing California law enforcers to consider banning them for good.

Marine animals such as whales or large birds swallow carryout bags and the bag can get lodged in their stomach permanently. Over one million seabirds have died because of ocean pollution. Sea turtles swallow these bags because they look like their main food source; jellyfish.

In California over 19 billion plastic bags are used, recycled, thrown away, and polluted every year. Lacie McArdle states that “Its disgusting but not surprising because of how many plastic bags are wasted each day.”that’s enough to circle the world 250 times.

The owner of the website plasticbaglaws.org runs a site explaining the current laws of plastic bags and how they are becoming more prevalent.

“If they do then should just find a different resource”

Diego Ramirez was giving his opinion on the banning of plastic bags.

California is considering banning plastic bags because of the pollution and marine life deaths.

“When I went to Mexico there were large amounts of bags completely everywhere it was kind of disgusting.”

McArdle had visited Mexico and explained how in a few places plastic bags filled up some streets.

Mr. Adams was unaware that plastic bags are bad for environment and loves them being around. He thinks that plastic bags are very useful and that they very helpful for him.

Plastic bags will be officially banned from California in 2015. In 2016 plastic bags from liquor and convenience stores will also be banned.
