Terrorism in Europe

The Eiffel Tower was evacuated September 28th after a terrorist bomb threat; but no explosive device was found.
Police tapped into a short wave radio conversation between two men discussing attacking the Eiffel tower with a bomb.
The day before the Eiffel Tower incident, French police closed and secured the Gare Saint-Lazare in central Paris after an anonymous sealed package was found in the train station. It was later determined to not be a threat, but precautions were taken.
Irene Taylor, who was recently in Paris, stated “There were a lot of French officers and military around in Paris. Every tourist attraction I went to was guarded by men in camouflage with really big machine guns.”
Both these incidents remind the world of the eminent terrorist threat. On September 11th, Bernard Squarcini, the head of France’s DCRI (or Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence) told French Newspaper, Le Jouran Du Dimanche, that the risk of terrorist activity in France had never been higher. Never is a long time, and France has had its fair share of terrorist ordeals.
Squarcini has also stated in recent interviews that the combination of France’s history as a colonial power, and recently banning veils (niqabs and burqas) covering Islamic women’s faces might be the cause of recent incidents.
Some French citizens have expressed concern over the gratuitous amount of military involvement thus far, but some tourists and citizens disagree.
“I felt really safe. I’m glad they were there,” Irene Taylor said.
The Eiffel tower seems to be a hot spot for terrorist activity over the past few weeks. Messages and numerous phone conversations involving bombing the historic structure have been intercepted recently. The question is, were these threats triggered by the recent banning of veils?
The Qur’an states that both men and women must dress modestly. It states women must lower their gaze and not display their beauty. Traditional Muslim women are asked to wear veils covering their faces while out in public, and France banned this activity.
Obviously, this sparked a lot of controversy between radical Islam and French authorities. The tension between radical Islam and French is at the brim. Anonymous terrorists have stated that there is more to come. France plans on thoroughly guarding all major attractions until some form of resolution to this threat transpires.
France has had a long history of terrorism, and there seems to be more to come.
