Everyone has their own unique style on the Hill

Many students on campus make their own trends and express their individual styles everyday. Whether it is make up, hair, piercing, or even tattoos, people are unique in their own way. To some, being different is a way to be free and unique.

“I think my style is unique because I shop at Goodwill and other thrift stores. I like looking different and being myself,” sophomore, Alyssa Reynolds said.
Some may say their style isn’t extraordinary, but it still represents who they are and what they are about. Being in or out of the ordinary, everyone is different.
“My style is fun and outgoing.” senior Deneya Montgomery said.

In addition, Reynolds said “people call me hippy because of the way I dress. My style is unique; it says I like being happy and just letting go and having fun.”
Many teens take pride in stepping out of the box and doing something different then everyone else. Sadly, there are others out there who make fun of and judge their peers for being different. Even though they may be looked down upon, there are many students who don’t give in to someone else’s judgment.
“My style is unique because it is different; it says I am not boring. My style is everything, but it is not like everyone else,” senior Kevin Estrada said.
Sophomore Kayla Myers likes her way of fashion as well.

“My style is unique, because I do what I want and I don’t care what people say or think. My style is my style, and I won’t change for anybody. My style says I am an individual, even though I may look like others,” she said.

Many judge people on their appearance. Some don’t mean to, but it is what their mind reacts to when seeing someone with crazy hair or an outfit that is very different.

“I definitely judge people on their appearance; although I don’t do it on purpose. I would still go up to someone who looks crazy or different and talk to them before I completely judge them to the point where I would not even try to become friends with that person,” junior Anna Lipsmeyer said.
Then there on other people who don’t judge others at all and believe that judging some one for what they look like is not right and rude.
“Judging someone for what they look like is messed up. You shouldn’t judge others,” junior Garrett Menches says.

Having a unique and different style can please many teens because it shows their true selves and who they are on the inside. Even though some may not look different, that does not mean they aren’t unique on the inside.
