New Disney vs Old Disney

“Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh, Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff. He’s Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh. Willy nilly silly ole bear.” Everybody knows the famous theme song for the Disney show, Winnie the Pooh. It’s a classic that almost every highschooler these days watched as a little kid.

Pooh and Piglet, Chip and Dale, Rolie Polie Olie, and Aladdin were every little kids best friends as they were growing up. But now, kids are becoming friends with characters such as Phineas and Ferb, the new, crappy TinkerBell, Shaun the Sheep, Handy Manny and so many more. Disney Channel has changed the way that they make their show so much in the past fifteen or so years, but are they for the better or for the worse?

“I think that Disney has gotten worse, it all used to be so cute. Since Pixar joined with them it seems like they’re just making movies and shows for the money, the old Disney made movies for happiness.” junior Randi Wademan stated.

She doesn’t like the fact that Pixar joined with Disney. She believes that they changed the way Disney made things, and not for the better. Junior Brittney Mackenzie had the same opinion.

“I think the Disney channel has changed for the worse. The shows that they are putting out are pointless and stupid,” Mackenzie said. “The thing that changed the most is the quality that they put into making the shows.” Mackenzie grew up on shows like Out of the Box, Lizzie McGuire, and Kim Possible; she is sticking to what she grew up with. She will always be in favor of the 90s TV shows over the shows now, like junior Georgie Godfrey.

“I liked the older shows because they were actually funny. I hate that Hannah Montana crap.” Godfrey stated. Godfrey grew up with Lizzie McGuire, Boy Meets World, and all of the other classic 90s Disney Channel Shows. I grew up in the 90s, so like I what I grew up with, not what they are putting out now for kids to watch.

Disney has changed a lot in the past fifteen years. Whether it’s for the better or for the worse that is up to you to figure out. Whether you like the older Disney shows or the newer ones, the changes are huge, and very noticeable.
